  • BEAM (Sandwell) offering support for children during the C-19 Crisis

    Mon 27 Apr 2020

If you have a young person in your home who is struggling with emotions and concerns, you can contact BEAM. https://www.childrenssociety.org.uk/beam/sandwell

To help you understand a little bit more about BEAM this is taken from their website:

'We understand that talking about how you feel isn’t easy, especially with someone you don’t know. You may worry about what to say, what the reaction will be or you may not understand why you feel the way do.

It could be a bad day or an ongoing issue that's affecting your mood - for Beam, no problem is too big or too small. You can talk confidentially to someone in the Beam team who will listen, understand and provide advice and guidance to help you.'

  • Ongoing delays and issues with Edenred FSM Vouchers!

    Wed 22 Apr 2020

We are becoming increasingly aware of ongoing issues and delays with the new Government FSM Vouchers scheme.

I would like to reassure all affected families that they have been added to the weekly orders to Edenred and will receive their allotted amounts and codes.

Our school business manager has ensured that all stages of our involvement in the process have been completed on time and unfortunately we are now reliant on Edenred to complete the administration of these to you.

We have been informed that following our weekly FSM order being processed on a Monday, it may take up to 72 hours for these to reach your inbox.

Our shared frustration, with this delay, has been fed-back to the Local Authority and it is increasingly becoming apparent that this issue is affecting families across England due to Edenred struggling to meet current demand.

Please be assured that we are doing all we can to ensure our families are supported with this issue. In order to reduce the processing time for each family, we have combined each child's allowance into a single family amount e.g. 2 children = 1 family voucher of £30 instead of two separate £15 vouchers to process.

I would ask for your continued patience and support and that if you have still not received your weekly voucher by late THURSDAY please inform the school office on school.office@oakham.sandwell.sch.uk
