  • Urgent Action - Reclaiming Dolce/School Grid Credit

    Thu 09 Jul 2020

As you are aware, we are changing School meal provider from September 2020 from Dolce to SIPS Catering.

Many families currently have a credit on their existing School Grid (school meals) account for your child. We have been advised by School grid that you need to contact them directly in order to claim this money back as we are unable to do this on your behalf.

Please contact Dolce by either calling 01942 707709 or email customercare@dolce.co.uk

We would strongly advise that this is done as soon as possible to avoid any possible delays once we have transferred to SIPS at the end of this month.

Further guidance on the new accounts for school meals will be shared with families shortly.

  • A letter for Class 15 from Mr Powell

    Thu 09 Jul 2020

AS you will know, Mr Powell was absent before lockdown due to emergency eye surgery. Unfortunately, he is unable to return to Oakham until the start of the autumn term which means he is unable to physically say farewell to the children in Class 15.

However, we have received a letter from him which he would like to be shared with you all and of course, he wishes all of the children well in their new schools in the autumn.

    'Goodbye Class 15'

  • Home Learning Update

    Fri 03 Jul 2020

Next week will be the last week of formal teaching in school so  next week's Home Learning downloads on the website will be the final set available this term. Paper copies will be available from 10:30am on monday via the school office.

Our Learning Co-ordinators will be offering some PSHE related activities for the last week, designed to get children to begin thinking about a return to school in September.

Bug Club-Active Learn will not be available over the next two weeks as our IT team will begin the processing of migrating children to new year groups. X Table Rock Stars and Mathletics will continue to be available to all children for the remainder of this term.

Miss Haselock and Mr Kettle would like to pass on their thanks for all of the support from families and the positive communication from children with lots examples of their learning, over the past few weeks.

  • End of term arrangements - update

    Thu 02 Jul 2020

We have been informed by Sandwell LEA that our school will not be open to children during the summer holiday – further guidance has been promised by the DfE on proposed alternative provision for some children – this will be shared as soon as we have it. This is due to be released to school during today.

We are pleased to announce that all eligible families will continue to receive FSM vouchers during the summer break – we will continue to use the Edenred scheme and a final confirmation of amounts and the frequency of payments will be shared with you in the near future.

School will close for the summer on Friday 17th July at 12:00 noon as school will be closed to all children in the afternoon session. All children should be collected from classroom doors in Foundation Stage/KS1 and the playground in the KS2, in the usual manner.

School opens to all children – under current DfE guidance – on Thursday 3rd September. Full details on the Autumn return to school will be shared with all families as soon as possible via the website and school app before the end of term.

Our annual School reports will be emailed to families as PDF’s this year. These will be slightly shorter due to the Covid-19 Lockdown but as they are statutory, staff will still feedback on your children’s learning journey and personal development. Our IT team are currently resolving a few technical issues with this task but all families will receive reports before the end of the term.

Transition booklets have been prepared for new Nursery, Reception, Year One and Year Three children and their families. Unfortunately, these will have to replace the usual transition meetings held at the end of term. Any additional questions will be answered following their release to you.

As you will see, we have lots of important information still being worked on and being put together to replace what we would normally do at this time of the year. We understand that many of you will have questions or be waiting for this guidance - we should be able to solve many of these with the release of the documents mentioned above.

Following the publication of these, staff will do all they can to answer any other queries as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding!
