Due to to Covid-19 protocols we have not been able to host our usual open days for prospective Foundation Stage parents and carers.
Please use our virtual visit and information page to learn more about our very busy and amazing Nursery and Reception classes...
Following the recent closure of the Reception and Year One bubbles and conversations with some families, we feel it would be appropriate to clarify the process we are required to follow when we are informed of a positive Covid-19 result.
Due to our Year One closure, children will be learning at home until Monday 7th December. Oakham staff have prepared a two week home learning journey for Maths, English & Topic.
Please use the Oak Academy links to access the English, Maths & History Virtual Lessons and then complete the learning activities and tasks. Further information is included on the Autumn 2020 - Covid-19 Home Learning main page.

We have been asked to remind all of our families to continue following the latest COVID-19 guidance and remain vigilant at all times.
The local area has experienced a large increase in COVID-19 cases with Tividale being the highest ward for cases in Sandwell, last Thursday.
If you develop symptoms, however mild, or you have received a positive coronavirus (COVID-19) test result, then you should immediately self-isolate stay at home for at least 10 days from when your symptoms started.
If you live with others, all other household members who remain well must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days.
Thank you for your co-operation
We would like to offer you, in partnership with Sandwell Council, a place on a short webinar to raise awareness of Prevent and online safety for children and young people.
This is a joint project run by Sandwell Council’s Prevent team and Sandwell Children’s Trust, as part of the council’s #Safer6 campaign.
Child and Young People Online Safety Awareness for Parents
People are using technology and online spaces more than ever before – especially since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The internet is a fantastic source of information and a great way to keep in touch with others, but it also comes with risks – especially for children and young people.
The 30-minute online safety session will cover:
· Concerns to look out for
· Online issues for children (from the NSPCC) and statistics
· Key information on popular apps and social media platforms (including age limits)
· Useful tips, advice and links to keep your child safe online
· Information and support
· Additional resources
The theme for the session is that the online world changes quickly. Parents need to be able talk to their children about their activity online on a regular basis, to keep them safe.
The online safety session will be immediately followed by a short 15-minute brief on raising awareness of Prevent.
The sessions will be delivered by Sandwell Council’s Prevent Education Officer, Justin Nixon and Sandwell Children’s Trust Youth Officer Sarfraz Khan via Microsoft Teams on:
1) Wednesday 25 November 5:30pm – 6:15pm
2) Thursday 26 November 9:30am – 10:15am
3) Thursday 26 November 18:00pm – 18:45pm

Mr Nott, one of the Squirrels team has released a song for Christmas and would love your support.,,,
Press Release:
"‘Merry Christmas’ everyone, or is it? 2020, what a year it’s been and what will Christmas be like? Who knows? One thing is for sure though, that many people and their families will be restricted in how they will be able to celebrate by being away from their loved ones as Christmas is the one time of year when people make a real effort to visit each other.
Maybe this Christmas will then be one of nostalgia by remembering ‘Christmas like it used to be’, because that is exactly what the Song-writing and Production team of Christopher Nott and Dave Lowe have captured perfectly in this wonderful, thought provoking, nostalgic musical journey back in time to “Christmas Like It Used To Be”.

We have had a fantastic response to the Christmas poster competition and it was very difficult to choose just three winners from each key stage. After a lot of wrangling and discussion the six children below have had their entries sent through to GM2LF for the final judging.
