Spring 2021 - Covid-19 Home Learning

Oakham Primary School Remote Learning Policy

Oakham Primary School - Remote Learning Guidance

We are providing access to a range of home learning resources to support children who are asked to learn at home due to the covid-19 pandemic.

We are unable to replicate a full school day at home and appreciate working from home with children is demanding and may lead to sharing of devices, so again, we would ask for an adult to be able to spend a  part of the day supporting or over-seeing children's learning.

Units will run for 10 school days and be updated every fortnight; children will have access to English and Maths learning tasks to complete alongside additional online learning platforms (see section below).

Where possible we would expect children to access Mathletics, Bug Club and where appropriate TT Rock Stars to supplement their weekly learning journey. We would also encourage a short daily read to an adult session as part of their routine too.

We continue to make our IT support email address available should you have any technical issues such as log-in errors; ITHome@oakham.sandwell.sch.uk

Completed work can be sent as screenshots to their year group teachers who will provide feedback on their learning. You will need to put your child's initials as the 'Subject' section of the email eg 'AZ Home Learning'. Email contact details for your child's teaching team for feedback and support are included in their year group resource folders below.

Lockdown Home Learning Resources.

These will be a self contained set of English, Maths and Topic lessons, resources and teaching activities. Content for these will be uploaded on a fortnightly basis. Families will be notified of new units being uploaded via the school app.

They will be based on the Oak Academy Virtual School lessons - these are set up in year groups and each subject have a daily english, maths and topic teaching session with a virtual teacher before children complete linked activities set by and created by Oakham staff.

Again these completed tasks can be sent to the class teacher as pdf's, scans or photographs of the completed work using the secure Oakham email system for feedback.

Families who do not have access to a printer can collect paper work packs from the school office from 9am.

Thank you for your support during this lockdown period.
