Autumn 2020 - Covid-19 Home Learning

We are providing access to a range of home learning resources to support children who are asked to self-isolate due to covid-19. If your child is well enough to continue with their learning then they will complete the relevant 'Pupil Isolation Pack' from this section of the website.

Children will have access to English and Maths learning tasks to complete alongside additional online learning platforms (see section below). Where possible we would expect children to access mathletics, Bug Club and where appropriate TT Rock Stars daily. We would also encourage a short reading to an adult session as part of their routine too.

We are unable to replicate a typical school day at home, so again, we would ask for an adult to be able to spend a small part of the day supporting or over-seeing children's learning. We continue to make our IT support email address available should you have any technical issues such as log-in errors;

Completed work can be sent as screenshots to their class teacher who will provide feedback on their learning. You will need to put your child's initials as the 'Subject' section of the email eg 'AZ Home Learning'.

Should we be required to isolate a whole class or year group bubble then we will activate our 'Bubble Lockdown Home Learning' resources. These will be a self contained set of English, Maths and Topic lessons, resources and teaching activities. Content for these will be uploaded at the start of the designated lockdown period.

They will be based on the Oak Academy Virtual School lessons - these are set up in year groups and each subject have a daily english, maths and topic teaching session with a virtual teacher before children complete linked activities set by and created by Oakham staff.

Again these completed tasks can be sent to the class teacher as pdfs, scans or photographs of the completed work using the secure Oakham email system for feedback.

Families who do not have access to a printer and will require paper copies of learning activities should inform the school at the start of the 'Pupil Isolation' OR 'Bubble Lockdown' periods using THIS REQUEST FORM. These will need to be collected from the school office.
