As the final words to John Denver's 'Country Roads' rang out of the speakers of the classroom here at Plas Gwynant this evening, the children have realised that our journey here at Plas is now coming to a close. As a staff, we are incredibly proud of all that they have achieved. For all the fun had, new experiences and memories made, the main thing is that they have come together as part of the Oakham Family.
So, before the madness of packing cases, preparing sandwiches and waving our goodbyes tomorrow, here are a few diary entries from today's experiences to share with you.
Aman: Today we climbed a 318 mountain and walked back to the centre. My feet really hurt but I found resilience and kept on going. Our night activity was orienteering and it was so fun! Although this was the last full day, I made the most of it.
Avneet: Today was our last full day at Plas. We went gorge walking, which was quite fun, and shockingly we didn't get that wet! We also went to the beach and me and Avneet 'attempted' to splash Miss Harrison - but we kind of failed... I'm looking forward to going hoe but don't want to at the same time. Also, everyone here is CRAZY!
Leeya: Well, our final day has come to an end. Today was beach day and the views were amazing, like it was some kind of dream. With each step, I got more confident and I was eager of what we were going to do next. I won't forget this day at all.
Oliver: Last full day today and it was all about team building down at the beach (the weather was the best ever!!!) We also went to Beddgelert and learned what about a famous story. Tonight was playing a CD game (orienteering), which was lots of fun.
We've had a Wales of a time, but, for now...
Nos da!
