To summarise the day, the weather's been stunning, the scenery jaw-dropping and, I suppose, the kids have been all right too... 😁
But, today's blog will work a little differently. Rather than me write up some of our experiences, let's hear it from the children themselves. After our evening meal, I asked them to briefly share how they've shown resilience (our key objective). This is what they said:
Kayden: "So, today we were canoeing and we were instructed to go around 360 degrees as team. We really clicked as a team and showed our resilience to paddle through the water. It was amazing because at the end we jumped in the water - it felt like an ice bath!"
Ariana: "We were climbing a mountain and we had to scramble using our hands and knees at times. I did struggle with this as everything was hurting, but I didn't give up. The descent was also hard, trying my best not to slip. I felt so proud though."
Mia: "It was kayaking day today. I didn't want to go in at first, but I soon got over it. I couldn't believe how confident I was and that I did something I never thought I could do. I can't wait for tomorrow."
And last but certainly not least...
Katie: I was worried about coming away before this week. I wasn't sure how I'd be with the routines and meals. But I feel so much more confident, and I'm going to try and take it back to the classroom. I feel like Plas Gwynant has changed me.
Wow, what a final line. I had to put that in bold because this is why we put on residential experiences.
What a week, with plenty more adventures to come. 😎
