Frank Chapman Day 2

After a well-deserved night’s sleep, we all calmly and quietly woke up… (or, more accurately, shot out of bed surprisingly early!) and headed down for breakfast.

To kick off the day, the children bravely faced their fears with tree climbing and abseiling down the walls — because nothing says “good morning” like heights! At the same time, other groups took part in archery, including a rather creative pizza-themed variation where aiming skills were just as important (and possibly even more competitive!).

Later, we wandered through the woods to create some Earth Art, taking inspiration from different artists. The children produced some fantastic natural masterpieces — sticks, leaves, and creativity everywhere! This was followed by making leaf angels, which were carefully designed (and occasionally redesigned) using sticks and leaves.

After all that activity, we stopped for a fruit break and drinks before enjoying a bit of well-earned downtime. Then it was time for dinner: bangers and mash, followed by jam and chocolate sponge pudding. We’ll admit, there was some initial scepticism… but it didn’t last long once everyone started eating!

In the evening, all 52 children took part in what can only be described as one of the most chaotic games of rounders ever created. The rules may or may not have changed several times…

To finish the day, we had showers, diary writing, and — of course — hot chocolate with biscuits.

Another busy (and slightly exhausting) day complete… and somehow, we’re ready to do it all again tomorrow!
