Frank Chapman Day 1

Today was an exciting start to our school trip at Frank Chapman!

First, we got ourselves organised for the week ahead. This included unpacking and, yes, making our own beds. Some of us discovered this was a new life skill.

Then the fun really began. We split into two groups for our activities. One group explored the mines by crawling through tunnels and also took part in the blind line, which tested our teamwork and trust. Meanwhile, the other group went geo-caching, carefully following clues and definitely not getting confused at any point while searching for hidden items.

After working up an appetite, we enjoyed our first delicious meal of pizza and chips.

In the evening, we went for a walk through the woods and visited the famous 350-year-old Magic Tree. Everyone made a wish, although we’re not sure if wishing for more pizza counts.

To end the day, we had hot chocolate or squash with a biscuit (finally, a moment of peace!) and wrote in our diaries about everything we’d done.

All in all, a very busy first day… and we somehow still have energy for tomorrow!
