Plas Gwynant - Wednesday Update
Year 6 Residential – Plas Gwynant: Day 3
Rather than write about another unbelievable day of experiences, added to by the joys of the sun keeping us company all day long, I just want to briefly share how our night activity just finished up.
Tonight was our night walk and boy did we pick a night for it. Walking up from the centre through part of an official Snowdon path (Watkin for any walkers out there), smiles, laughs and jokes were aplenty. Mainly at Mr Kettle’s headwear. We then arrived at the top and did the very simple thing of turning our torches off, lying down and spending a few moments in utter silence.
You could hear a pin drop.
The kids were buzzing and listening in to a few conversations coming back down, our Oakham lot didn’t disappoint.
“I thought that stars were rather pathetic but now I don’t!”
“I loved our deep conversation about what could actually be out there.”
“Thingy’s belt was amazing!” (I think you meant Orion’s, Dan).
It’s nights like these that make our week at Plas Gwynant just the most special time. And the best thing of all? Nobody lay down in any sheep poo during our star gazing session. Win.
Team Oakham signing off for the night.
